Project Onward

Adam Hines - Wheel of Fortune - Project Onward artist

Last December, we had the privilege of conversing with a number of artists affiliated with Project Onward at the One of a Kind Show & Sale Chicago. Project Onward's studio director, Mark Jackson, has been a friend for a few years now and was kind enough to introduce us to many of the artists that participate in the program. Project Onward supports the creative development of visual artists with special needs with workspace, art supplies, and professional guidance in a communal workshop environment. Project Onward helps their artists develop a full portfolio of their work while also providing earned income through ongoing exhibitions at Gallery 37 and regular participation in art fairs and expositions.

Dolan and I were pleased to purchase a selection of works from Project Onward artists, including a couple drawings by Adam Hines (featured above). We also conversed at length with artist James Allen whose work is featured below.Last last year, we're going to be out of town during art fair weekend in Chicago. For those of you that will be attending the Intuit Show of Folk and Outsider Art, make certain to stop by Project Onward's booth.
