Last night we had the pleasure of being invited to a soirée with the kind folks from Artful Home. We were given the official tour of their space on Main Street, as well as being treated to some wonderful snacks and, of course, the local beverage of choice, Spotted Cow. Today, we got out early anticipating a hearty crowd, and so far we haven't been disappointed.

Madison Art Fair on the Square This Weekend

We're hitting the road for Madison, Wisconsin ready to set up shop for the 51st annual Madison Art Fair on the Square. Visit us in booth 680 (our same location as last year) at the corner of Mifflin, Pinckney, and Hamilton. We'll have a number of original works on sale, along with a complete inventory of Box Prints, paper prints, and DG MINIs. Hours are Saturday 9am-6pm and Sunday 10am-5pm so come on by and say hello. Cherry Creek Arts Festival July 3-5

When this blog entry posts, we'll be setting up shop on the streets of the Cherry Creek neighborhood in Denver, Colorado. Visit us this weekend at the Cherry Creek Arts Festival in booth 132, on 2nd Avenue between Detroit and Fillmore. On Friday morning, Dolan will be doing a live interview with Channel 7, discussing his experiences as a Cherry Creek artists along with the green aspects of his artwork. For the full festival line-up, including food, music, and all sorts of other special events, check the Cherry Creek website or their Facebook page. We'll see you in the Mile High city!

Mixed Media Collections Now on Website

Visitors to our website will notice a new Artwork section, Original Mixed Media Collections. These collections represent limited-edition and on-going series available made-to-order at any time. For each collection, users can click through to the new Etsy Mixed Media Collections section to check available works in the collections; review other sample works in each collection; or contact us to discuss a made-to-order piece. Retail pricing is posted on the individual collection pages. Retailers and design professionals will find wholesale/trade pricing information available on their respective pricing pages, available via login. Many new works in our Mixed Media Collections may be viewed in the Cherry Creek/Madison Art Fair First Look Flickr set. The Etsy shop will be updated to reflect these new works upon our return from Denver and Madison.

Introducing Seaside, Florida

It's been a busy month on the retail front and we're excited to announce one more retail destination for Dolan Geiman Box Prints: Art of Simple. Art of Simple is run by husband and wife team Michael and Laura Granberry and showcases the work of contemporary Southern artists. The gallery is located in the experimental, forward-thinking (call it what you will) community of Seaside, Florida, a study in New Urbanism. The history and concept of Seaside is so fascinting, I highly recommend a visit to the community's website. Seaside was the film location for Jim Carey's The Truman Show, but most amazing is that the location fees were used to construct the community's charter school. Check the Real Estate page for images of the community's unique cottages, homes that are a model for weathering the worst of Florida's hurricanes.We're thrilled to be part of Seaside and thankful for our new art reps in this design-minded community. Country Picnic: Dutch Door Press & Clare Rojas

Dutch Door Press: stationery & print designs

Thanks to Etsy's current voting contest for Americana decor, we were re-acquainted with San Francisco based Dutch Door Press. Dutch Door Press specializes in wedding invitations, birth announcements, personal stationery, greeting cards, and limited edition prints that blend modern design with patterns and icons inspired by the traditional folk art of Northern Europe. Suckers for all things Pennsylvania Dutch, especially the hex sign, we naturally flagged this shop as a favorite when we first stumbled across their Etsy shop.

Dutch Door Press also makes a great segue into the gouache artwork of artist Clare Rojas, also from San Francisco and currently on exhibit at Kavi Gupta Gallery here in Chicago. 2009 Bucktown Arts Fest Poster Artist

Pretty soon you'll be seeing this poster adorning the restaurants and retail establishments of Bucktown, advertising the upcoming 24th annual Bucktown Arts Fest. The 2009 poster artists, Dolan combined Bucktown's historic goat (a buck actually) and his own iconic birds into this colorful collaged poster design. Posters will be available for sale, as well as a T-shirt adapation of the poster design, during the festival August 29th and 30th.
