ADVOCACY
Artist Deduction Bill
Under current tax laws, charitable donations of artwork are treated differently for collectors versus artists. Creators of artwork are only able to deduct the cost of materials such as paint and canvas, while collectors are able to deduct the fair-market value. Learn about about the Artist Deduction Bill and how to advocate for this and other arts issues. Visit the Americans for the Arts website. - October 20, 2007

ARTIST DIRECTORY SITE
re-title.com
re-title.com is an online resource for emerging artists, curators, writers, and galleries providing both an artist's directory and regularly updated visual guide to international exhibitions and expositions. As far as paid artist portfolio sites go, we would most recommend this site for contemporary artists pursuing gallery exposure opportunities. Most important, re-title's directory is selective. As an added incentive, re-title offers a regular artist opportunities e-newsletter for all members. As an example, here are 2 opportunities recently included in their e-mail newsletter: ArtSway Open07 and city without walls METRO 25 show - September 25, 2007

Dolan-
I talked to you back in June at the Old Town Art Fair. Thanks for taking the time. I participated in my first art fair this last weekend in Park Forest. It was excellent! Your advice helped make it a success. Thanks once again!
