On Thursday evening, we had the opportunity to hear fine art photographer and sculptor William Christenberry speak at the Art Institute. A favorite artist and inspirational figure for Dolan, it was a treat to hear the stories and background behind his 40+ years of art making. The Smithsonian American Art Museum is hosting a retrospective of Christenberry's work through July 8, 2007 and the Art Institute is featuring a few of his photographs in the current When Color Was New exhibition through the end of April.
