*Home design blog Apartment Therapy Chicago and Bucktown boutique Hejfina are joining forces to host a spring design party, showcasing the shop's new spring lines. Associate Professor Helen Maria Nugent from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago will speak about contemporary and classic design, along with local design writers from Prairie Mod, Design Boner, and Palla Palla.

- Barbara Koenen in the Emergency Show at Polvo
*Barbara Koenen is a Chicago-based artist who creates unlikely combinations of cultural practices around the world as influenced by war. Her recent projects include spice war rugs -- installations and transfers inspired by Tibetan sand mandalas and Afghani war rugs -- and Grenade Cosies, hypothetical illustrations of the evolution of a traditional American craft.
