Back in April at the ONB Magic City Art Connection art festival in Birmingham, Alabama, we met artists and shop owners Brian McGuffey and Leif Holland of Square Room. Soon after, we consigned a few rescued wood constructions, including the songbird and trophy deer versions, at their Seattle location. Square Room sells work by Brian and Leif as well as works by independent artists and designers from across the nation. Inventory also includes EMECO furniture, jewelry, and Square Room's own line of natural household and bath products. Dolan's, Brian's, and Leif's artwork exhibits in perfect combination: for those of you that like the distressed wood aesthetic of many of Dolan's large-scale paintings, check out Brian's work. To others that like the nature-inspired feel to Dolan's constructions and collages, see Leif's work. Square Room currently stocks 3 songbird constructions; deer constructions will be restocked sometime this fall.We're pleased to introduce a second retailer also located in Washington state, Hot Toddy of Olympia. Hot Toddy currently sells our panel paintings. Later this fall or in 2008, Hot Toddy may also carry Dolan's medium-size works. Primarily a fashion boutique, Hot Toddy sells clothing from nationwide independent fashion designers. A quick Google search found the following designers selling at Hot Toddy: Paperdoll Fashion, Kristen Ferrell, 1 Girl 1 Boy, Steel Toe Studios, and Ferdinand.
Over in the Midwest, we extend early congratulations to Marlee and Steve for the grand opening of their Cleveland store, Shoparooni. Shoparooni opens this Friday October 19, with a sneak peek previous party on Thursday evening. Located in the Waterloo area just a few doors down from the Beachland Ballroom and Music Saves!, Shoparooni carries apparel, accessories, shoes, gifts, and home wares catered to the indie shopper. Shoparooni has also joined the ranks of our esteemed roster of panel painting retailers.
