Weekly Wrap Up 4/19/2010

Country Living: May 2010 Issue
We're not going to spoil the fun by revealing the magazine spread just yet, but we are excited to announce that our 40" x 35" Blackbird Fall Harvest BOX PRINT reproduction appears in the May 2010 issue of Country Living. Check out pages 54-55 (and fold the pages down well) to see our lil' Blackbird piece in its first major print debut!

Our Upcoming Wedding & My Office Renovation
Returning from Ft. Worth after the Main Street Fort Worth Arts Festival, there was a HUGE surprise waiting for me. While we were away, a crew of friends and fellow tenants at Bubbly Dynamics completed an office over-haul that Dolan has been planning for me since January. The office makeover was a 30th birthday/wedding present for me. For more photos of the renovated office, check out our Facebook fan page. Look for a post about the desk fabricated from my office by Jordan Waraksa in the near future.

And, please don't feel left out if you didn't receive an invitation to our wedding. We're opted for a private affair, just the two of us with Dolan's childhood pastor and life-long friend. We promise photos of the occasion!

Top Secret Project
We'll soon be unveiling details of a major project we've been working on since February in between the art fairs, wholesale and Etsy shipments, and wedding preparations (thank goodness we don't have a large wedding planned!) Stay tuned in late April-May when we break the news!

New Retailer & Event this Friday in Washington, VA
A shipment of original artwork is headed east to our newest retailer in Washington, Virginia, R.H. Ballard Art, Rug & Home. The shipment includes one of my personal favorites from 2010, Mystery at the Old Windmill, along with a couple Songbird constructions and an original Made in the Shade medium-size guitar. The artwork will debut this Saturday, April 24, at a book signing and wine/cheese tasting at R.H. Ballard Art, Rug & Home with R. W. Apple, Jr. For more details about the event, click here.

R.H. Ballard Art, Rug & Home opened in 1997, a destination shop just one block from the world-renowned Inn at Little Washington in the beautiful Rappahannock County. Recently the shop was heralded by the editors of Southern Living Magazine as one of the top 50 shops in the south offering unique gifts, fine art, and beautiful rugs from across the globe.

Quirk Gallery Reminder
A couple hours south of R.H. Ballard Art, Rug & Home, this is the last week to view Dolan's Shop show at Quirk Gallery in Richmond, Virginia featuring an assortment of Rescued Wood Constructions. Gallery hours this week are Monday-Friday 10-5 and Saturday 11-4.
