Feeling nostalgic for our days spent living on the Chesapeake Bay, we started our day last Friday with a trip to our Northshore retailer, Seagrass. A store full of home decor and gifts devoted to coastal living, we were misty-eyed remembering all the soft-shelled crabs with Old Bay seasonings and seashore rubble. Such recollections would be remiss without a hearty plug for a trip to Tangier Island and a nod to the many professional crab boat fishermen and fiserwoman.
We first met Seagrass store owner Maria Smith back at the 2005 One of a Kind Show and Sale. Since then, Maria has become our primary art retailer in the Northshore community. On Friday, we delivered seven new works including a series of songbird shelf constructions, two small paintings, a new framed collage, and one of our favorite larger collages of all time, All the Birds' Wings of Western Virginia Part III. A series of 3 framed collages that have been in the working for several years, this is the last of the series. Here is part I of the series.
