Mapping the Territory
opens May 18

After seeing a lot of craft work at this weekend's art fair at Laumeier Sculpture Park in St. Louis, we thought we might highlight a few craft-minded destinations in St. Louis. If you have any suggestions for this list, please feel free to add comments to the post.
  • Craft Alliance: located in The University City Loop, Craft Alliance provides inspiration and education in fine contemporary craft through exhibitions, sales and instruction. See the upcoming exhibition, Mapping the Territory, with works by Maureen Bardusk, Dorothy Caldwell, Mary Edna Fraser, Linda Gass, Judith James, Michael Olszewski, and Laura Strand. The exhibition opens May 18 from 6pm-8pm.
  • Duane Reed Gallery: Established in 1994, the Duane Reed Gallery represents internationally recognized, contemporary artists in the fields of painting, photography, glass, ceramics, fiber, wood and sculpture. Duane Reed is known for its expertise in contemporary glass and is a regular exhibitor at both the Chicago and New York SOFA expositions.
  • Weaver's Guild of St. Louis: The second oldest fiber guild in the United States, the guild is a not-for-profit group of contemporary textile artists.
  • St. Louis Craft Mafia: the St. Louis branch of a national consortium of DIY crafters.
