On a personal level, we wanted to take a moment to congratulate Tom Torluemke on receiving a 2007 Efroymson Contemporary Art Fellowship. Tom is one of five Indiana artists to receive an unrestricted cash award of $20K from the Efroymson Fund, a donor-advised fund of Central Indiana Community Foundation. You can read more about the fellowship and Tom's plans for the funds here or visit tomtorluemke.com.Cash awards for artists are a rare breed, but here are a few other public charities and foundations providing direct and unrestricted support to visual artists.
