Duties:
- Artwork production including but not limited to cutting wood, painting, and screenprinting.
- Artwork handling including the attachment of hanging materials as well as packaging artwork for transit to art fairs or for shipment.
- Print packaging including use of shrink wrap system.
- Use of studio digital camera to document production of artwork as well as finished artwork.
- Use of Photoshop.
- Cleaning and organization of studio.
- Loading and unloading cargo van with art bins and display equipment.
Skill Requirements:
- Educational background in painting and printmaking with emphasis on printmaking. Ideal candidate will have experience with screen production, including use of an exposure unit.
- Experience and comfort with power tools including but not limited to drills and saws – cutting wood to specified dimensions will be a common activity.
- Willingness to work in a demanding, fast-paced studio environment. Candidate should be able to work quickly and multi-task while paying attention to detail.
- Ability to follow direction diligently as well as work unsupervised on independent activities.
- Basic experience with digital camera and Photoshop.
- Strong work ethic with commitment to being punctual.
- Means of transportation to studio located at 37th and Morgan in Bridgeport.
The position will start with 16 hours/week (2 days) with a strong possibility of additional hours and pay $12.50/hr. Flexible scheduling is desirable though not absolutely necessary.
