This Thursday, we're packing the art van and heading to Nashville for a large-scale AIDS education and services benefit, Artrageous 0019. An annual gallery tour and after-party to benefit Nashville Cares, the Dolan Geiman Art Machine will be the main feature of participating gallery TAG Art Gallery. This is the official debut of the Art Machine in the Nashville area; it's last sighting was the James Hotel Mixart grand opening event back in spring. Live footage from the James Hotel is available at the recently re-developed Chicago City Arts Review website. Thanks to this weekend's Art Machine assistant, Chris Nightengale, and to Allison Marusic for providing lodging for us art-thrill-seeking travelers.
For those grunge fans out there, specifically Alice in Chains, apparently the “band” is on tour. Of course, without the accompanying high pitched croons of former lead man Layne Staley (rest in peace), no one is sure what to expect. There are still tickets for the milwaukee show here so any fans up there, get on it. Let us know how the show is. We’ll send a free panel painting or t-shirt to anyone who sends us pictures from the show. Why are we not going? We hate crowds, what else can we say. Too much time in the basement studio...we'll just have to resort to vicarious moshing.
